Review: Rimmel London Apocalips

Rimmel London is one of my favourite drugstore brands. Not only because they make the best mattifying powder ever (aka Stay Matte Powder for those of you who have been living under a rock lately) but also because they seem to follow the beauty updates very closely with great launches every now and then making us non UK based beauty bloggers counting down the days until the product hits feelunique.com or asos.com. This time they did it again with the Apocalips; epic name, isn’t it?

This is a hybrid between a lipstick and a gloss in the sense that it is extremely pigmented but it comes in the packaging of a gloss taking some of its shine in it. It comes in a very sleek packaging with a foam applicator, especially designed to help you get precise application. They are extremely pigmented (I don’t know how many times I can stress that!) as you can see in the photos below, which by the way are with one and only application, I didn’t reload the applicator by dipping it in the tube again. They don’t feel sticky at all on your lips like glosses (which if you didn’t know I almost never wear) and I find them very moisturising and light on my lips. I’ve heard from other bloggers and youtubers that they have great staying power which I actually don’t agree with. They do stay on pretty well and they fade very nicely, however I wouldn’t put them under the long-lasting-lipstick category.

Unfortunately, Rimmel is a brand that we can’t find in Greece. However, feelunique.com and asos.com have got you covered! There is a variety of shades available, I believe 14 at the moment. They retail for about 6£ (depending on the online store you choose to get it from) which I believe is a very reasonable price for such an amazing product.

Have you tried them? What do you think?
