June Favourites 2014

Favourites time is here! Have I told you I love these kind of posts? Probably I’ve written that in every single favourites intro post but… you can hear it from me once more! I’ve got exciting stuff to show you this month and an exciting giveaway of course!

The most exciting of the bunch is the Ultra Facial Cream by Kiehl’s. I got it at the Kiehl’s event here in Thessaloniki when they had the 150ml jar at the same price as the 50ml one (!!!) and it was for a good cause as well. The whole amount went to an orphanage and Natassa Theodoridou was here to support the cause as well! The cream itself is amazing. It has helped my oily acne prone skin a lot with the breakouts. This was where I realised that, although I’m that into skincare and I try to use mostly organic products that will not dry my skin out from its natural oils, my skin was oily but also dehydrated. It seriously did wonders, even my fiancé has noticed it, and that’s a big deal! It helped with the little pimples on my forehead and my skin feels very hydrated and satin to the touch when I wake up. The only downside is that it comes in a jar and I have to scoop it out with a spatula, because dipping my hands in there is extremely anti-hygienic for me.

Another thing that I fell in love with this month was a mint nail polish from Essence in the shade That’s What I Mint. I’ve been looking for the perfect mint polish, which is affordable as well, and when I heard Tati from GlamLifeGuru talking about it I just rushed out and bought it. It looks amazing, it stayed on my nails without chipping for a whole week (no kidding here, 7 days straight!) and the brush is really cool as well, it’s one of those wide ones that coats your whole nail with one swipe. You can see a nail art I've created with it below, but bear in mind that the lightning doesn't do it justice!

The Catrice Kohl Kajal eyeliners have changed my makeup life this past month! I found a beautiful mint eyeliner at their display and it's the shade Too Cool For Pool (see the whole mint theme going on?) and a lovely periwinkle one which is Blues Willis. I’ve been wearing them non-stop, they are the easiest thing to apply in the morning for a very spring-y pop of colour. I’ll be doing a makeup look with both in July so stay tuned!

Last month I also found out that the Sephora lipsticks are great value for money! I’ve never caved in the whole Sephora lip cream craze that’s been going on around the blogosphere and youtube, although I’m a huge sucker for long staying power lipsticks. That is because the kind girls at Sephora applied it on me at the shop and I went ahead and did my chores wearing it. The colours are amazing but they really dried my lips out and when I went on to apply some lip balm to be able to at least smile without my lips hurting the colour came off completely! So I was just left with the impression that they are affordable but not that good quality really. Until I tried the new Sephora Collection Color Lip Last in 12 Raspberry-Matte Fuschia. The colour is so flattering, the pigmentation is extraordinary and it’s a matte finish without drying my lips out! It really stays on for hours and it gives a bit of a stain so it doesn’t wear off unevenly. They are a great buy, especially if you get it at a Sephora discount, which they are constantly having.

My new lip scrub is something that excited me a lot in June! I decided to make my own because I didn’t want to spend money for something that everyone was insisting is the easiest DIY ever! So I made one with coconut oil, Aloe Vera Vaseline, brown sugar and honey. That’s it, seriously! You mix the ingredients together and you put it in a jar. It’s super exfoliating and moisturising at the same time and I’ve been using it twice a week.

Another obsession of mine, that keeps coming back every single summer, is drinking iced tea! I really love the taste, it cools me down during hotter days and it is my go to beverage. This year, I discovered the EPSA Green Tea with Pomegranate and Sour Cherry, which is sweetened with Stevia and it’s got only 10 calories per can! So it both tastes amazing and I don’t drink my calories every evening! There’s only one Supermarket that stocks them close to my house and I’ve been buying them by dozens! Seriously, if you come across it at the fizzy drinks isle, definitely grab one, or two!

The second obsession started late May and it is the green smoothies one! I’ve been making myself a green smoothie every single day and drinking it instead of having breakfast. It tastes amazing, you can’t even taste the greens and it infuses your body with enough nutrients for the whole day. I’ve done a whole post on them so click here for more information and a recipe.

Another favourite has to be the 'Get Summer Ready' series that I've started on BeautyFullAddict! It is a series that will consist of about 10 posts and it's going to go on for the remaining 2 summer months with 2 posts every week, on Monday and Thursday. The topics vary from eating clean to sunscreens, updated makeup bag and makeup looks according to some very popular trends of the season! You can read the 3 posts I've already uploaded here and stay tuned for the coming ones!

Now for the giveaway! This month I’ll be bringing the mint theme that’s been going on in my life lately over to you and you will get a chance to win the Essence Colour & Go nail polish in That’s What I Mint and the Catrice eyeliner in Too Cool For Pool.
