Current drugstore picks

I think I speak for everybody when I say that each season I find myself mostly gravitating towards certain products. Since we find that summer is at our doorstep I gathered all the products I seem to reach most for in my drawers and I thought I’d share them with you!

For bases, after the sun makes the first appearances, I usually go for products that have SPF in them. This year, I fell back in love with the Garnier BB Cream for Combination/Oilyskin and I’m in the shade Light. Also, a HG product for me that has SPF 30 in it, is the Lioele Triple the Solution BB cream. It gives a wonderful semi-matte finish and the coverage is amazing. Since I don’t suffer from very pigmented under eye circles I don’t use high coverage concealers, so the ELF Colour CorrectingConcealer in Rosy Beige is perfect for me. Also, the all time favourite Rimmel Stay Matte Powder applied very lightly over the top sets my makeup perfectly and keeps the shine away for several hours. Lately I’ve fell in love with the Catrice Blushers in Love in Peach and Think Pink. They are very pigmented and awesome value for money, since they are round a fiver if I’m not mistaken. A bronzer is a staple this time of year and the one I’ve been going for is the NYC Big Bold Bronzer in Manhattan.

For my eye makeup, I’m feeling very playful this year and eager to experiment with brighter colours. With that being said, the Catrice Longlasting Waterproof Eye Pencil in Petrol and the Wolf and the Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Liner in Blue should come in no surprise. However, the change of seasons wouldn’t mean a change in my staple very black waterproof liquid eyeliner, which is another one from Collection. I’ve also been loving the Maybelline Rocket mascara; my opinion has kind of changed since I’ve done a review on it. I find that now that it’s a bit drier it’s easier to work with and it gives me the thick lashes I’ve been going for.  The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded is a shade I really love for this season, on its own or under other shadows to intensify the pigmentation, and the Essence Quatro Eyeshadow in To Die For is kind of a staple to contour my semi-hooded eyes. 

I’ve restrained myself to the number of lippies I was going to include in this post because I would literally pull out my whole drawer and present it to you! This season I’m going for glossier and sheerer finishes and the one I find suits every makeup look is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm in Cherish (you didn’t think I wouldn’t include a chubby stick, would you?). I’ve also been loving the L’oreal Rouge Caress in Cheeky Magenta because it’s bright pink and it’s sheer (I've also done a post with more season-appropriate lippies which you can find here)!
