April is over? What the…? Easter holidays are already gone? Oh come on! It feels like only yesterday that I was longing for my Easter leave from work and, oh man, I got a loooong one! I was absent from work for a whole two weeks, my brother came home from Germany and the whole family got reunited at my parents’ house, where I spent most of my holidays! This year’s highlight was that we had my niece with us, who is now almost 3 months old, and she’s started smiling to us and figuring out the world around her! Sadly, she as well is moving to Germany in June, so I have the whole May planned with weekend trips to get to see her as much as I can. As I was on holiday, I experimented with make-up a lot and today I’m presenting you the ones that got mostly loved during the past month.
As it always happens when I travel, I did break out throughout my stay at my parents’ and the Apivita Organic Propolis Solution came to the rescue. It is totally organic, it is antibacterial and it dries out pimples in no time! I have been applying it with a cotton bud to each pimple, but when the situation got out of hand, I started applying it all over my face with a cotton pad.
On my nails, the only polish I’ve had on was the Erre Due Morning Mist, which is a wonderful muted purple, perfect for spring (if you want to see more nail polish picks for spring click here). For fragrance, the only one I packed was the Bath & Body Works Amber Blush Fragrance Mist, which is a lovely floral but at the same time musky scent. It contains raspberry, gardenia and magnolia blossoms as well as amber and vanilla suede. It smells divine!
One accessory that I got plenty of compliments on was this pair of sunglasses from Tiger. It was super cheap, only 4€, and definitely appropriate for the season! The lenses are not the best quality and it kind of hurts my eyes sometimes, but they are so adorable!
Makeup wise, I started using the Soap & Glory Kick Ass concealer in Light, which is a great match for my skin tone. It includes two different shades, a peachy one for the under eye area and a yellow toned one for pimples and discolouration. It also comes with a transluscent powder, which is great for setting it, plus a small mirror and a puff, in case you are doing your touch ups on the go. The consistency is very creamy and I find that it applies really well and doesn’t set into fine lines. Also, it is great for covering pimples, because the formula is moisturising and it doesn't dry out the area. The powder is very good quality as well and I’ve been using it to set the concealer, especially under the eyes. It was high time that I incorporated bronzer into my routine again. I’ve been loving the Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder for Lighter Skin, which is the perfect shade for me, as it is not too dark and not too orang-y. I’ve also started using brighter colours for my eye makeup, and as I love taupe for the eyelid, I started playing around with my eyeliners. The one I used most was the Catrice Longlasting Waterproof Eyepencil in Petrol and the Wolf. It’s a retractable pencil and the shade is a gorgeous green petrol, which really makes brown eyes stand out. It looks even better on top of black eyeliner, the pigmentation gets more intense. The only downside of it is that it is too waxy, which makes it difficult to work with, especially if you’re trying to wing it out. I usually use it on the lower lashline and if I want to use it on the upper lid I warm it up with a blow dryer, which makes it a lot easier to apply.
Sticking with the spring theme, my favourite lipsticks this month have been from Revlon of course. The obsession with the Just Bitten Kissable Balms Stains continues and especially now that they have brought out the matte ones, it’s simply renewed! They are so pigmented and moisturising at the same time, and they last for so long, that I always find myself going back to them. The shades I’ve been gravitating mostly towards were Cherish, a beautiful pink which goes with any makeup look, and from their new Matte Balms line, Striking, which is a very pigmented blue toned red, which I tend to wear mostly at night time (if you want to get more ideas for spring lip products I have a whole post dedicated to them here) .
These were my picks for the past month. And as I said in my March favourites post, I’m trying to do a giveaway every month, picking one of my favourite products to give it to you as a thank you for supporting me and reading my blog for all this time! This month I’m giving away a Soap & Glory Kick Ass concealer in Light. Unfortunately, since they are not available in Greece I will not be able to do a customised giveaway for you to pick the shade, I only have it in light. However, I believe that the peachy shade is suitable for darker skin tones as well, so fingers crossed the winner really enjoys it! You just need to fill in the Rafflecopter below and follow the steps there. You must follow BeautyFullAddict on Google Friend Connect ( just click 'join site' on the top right box on this page) and like the page on Facebook for your entry to be valid. The giveaway is international, it will be open for 2 weeks and you need to be at least 18 years old or have your parents’ consent to take part in it. Good luck to all of you!
