Back with Skincare Empties

I know I’ve been MIA for way too long.. I have no excuse, I just didn’t feel motivated and moving house as well as everyday life has got into me. I haven’t been absent from the beauty community though nor seized from picking up products that need to be reviewed. This time I feel pretty determined to keep it up, let’s see!

Today I am back with some empties. I had so much and even moved them to my new house until finally writing this post! This post will be about the skincare stuff; let’s begin!

Diadermine Exfoliating Gel Cleanser
If you’ve read my previous post you’ll know that acne has come back on my face and my skincare routine has changed dramatically. Until I found what suits me I’ve tried various cleansers. This one was definitely not a hit. It was supposed to be exfoliating but I couldn’t feel the bids in it. It also claimed to minimise my pores and get rid of blackheads which I noticed no difference at. It didn’t break me out though so that’s a plus.

Nivea Deep Cleansing Gel Cleanser
This one I got because it was on offer for buy one get one free. It was quite refreshing and very slightly exfoliating. I liked it, it didn’t break me out and I generally believe that for the price it’s an ok cleanser that you can pick up from the drugstore.

This lotion was prescribed to me by my dermatologist. It was nice for the time that I used it as a toner. It felt that it was really cleansing my skin but it started leaving it too dry after 2-3 weeks. At that time I thought that dryness was good for my oily skin but it turned out it wasn’t that awesome. I would not strongly recommend it just because it contains alcohol and generally pretty harsh ingredients.
This one was a hit. It used to be one of my favourite toners. It didn’t feel harsh or stripping on my face and I liked that I could see what the cleanser missed on my cotton pad. It is certainly more gentle than the previous one and more suitable for acne prone but sensitive skin types.

Johnson’s Gentle Eye Make Up Removal Lotion
This one was a total miss for one reason. One it claims to remove waterproof mascara which it failed to do. If it is supposed to do it after being there rubbing your eyes for 10 minutes then maybe it fulfilled its purpose. It also claims to nourish your eyelids which I understand how it could be achieved, maybe by putting some almond oil in there, but I didn’t really notice any improvement at my eyelashes health to be honest. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone really.

L’oreal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover & L’oreal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover for Waterproof Mascara
I love L’oreal when it comes to make up removers. They are so effective and do whatever they are upposed to do. These two are very nice, very gently and the latter removes waterproof formulas like a dream. No rubbing, no fuss. I especially love that one.

This one is one of my favourite lip balm ever. It is very nourishing to severely chapped lips, the texture is waxy and great and it smells soooooo good! It smells like coconut to me for some reason although it has no coconut in it!

Neutrogena Lip Care withSPF 5, (now on offer buy one get one free) 3.80
This is another favourite of mine and probably the best of any lip balm in a stick form I’ve tried. This has gone me through the period I was on Accuran and you’ve all heard how horribly chapped lips you get when on that medication. It is awesome, very balmy and with not a very strong scent.

These were my hits and misses for skincare. Have you tried any of them? Did they suit your skin better than mine?
