Greek Beauty Bloggers Event

I’ve been meaning to write this post for absolute ages! If you follow me on twitter or instagram you will know that I’ve been travelling a lot and I’ve been super busy with work, so that’s my excuse! This post is about the Greek Beauty Bloggers Event that took place in Thessaloniki in December. It was so nice to be able to put a face to each blog I’ve been reading so far and I had the chance to chat with so many of them and exchange ideas about the most recent trends on make up! The goodie bag was a wonderful surprise because we got stuff from L’oreal, Inglot, Beauty Store and Oxette/Loisir.

It was an amazing experience thanks to Demi from Greek Beauty Bloggers, who organized everything and stole some family time to contact all the sponsors and get everything ready for us. Representatives of the sponsors talked to us about their new campaigns, which was very informative. Inglot’s representative was there with her makeup collection ready to give us makeovers! 

They also gave away free staff or services and I was the lucky one to win a mascara and a professional makeover from Inglot. The photos of these are to come and I will do it as an update to this post, as I’ve been working crazy timetables and I haven’t been able to get to the city centre to visit their store. I just want to do it when I'll be very relaxed and not checking my watch every 3 minutes, in order to enjoy the experience. I promise to grab the first opportunity!

For now, I have the goody bag at hand to show you what the companies have generously put in there! Let’s dig in!

L’oreal has thrown in a shampoo and a hair mask for firsts. I haven’t tried them yet, just because I’ve been on treatment for hair loss and I’m not allowed to use any other products except for the prescribed ones. However, this particular one is for fragile hair with a tendency to fall, exactly what I need then! It contains a new formula with arginine and protein derivative that nourishes your hair from root to tip, reinforces the fibre and leaves you with stronger feeling hair. I really can’t wait to try these. They’ve also included one of their most popular eyeshadows, a Color Infallible one, and the Derma Expertise Eye make up remover. Each girl had a different shade in her bag; I got the shade ‘All Night Blue’, which is a beautiful deep blue with a bit of shimmer, an amazing shade for the perfect blueish smokey eye. I really wanted to try these for some time now and I have to say that they're truly pigmented, as you can see in the picture, and very blendable. I think L’oreal did a very good work with this one. And in order to take it off after a long night out, here comes the make-up remover. This is the double phase one which I’ve been purchasing over and over again in the past and I really forgot why I’ve been settling for anything else lately! The dark side on the top contains a bunch of oils which cleanse waterproof make up, and in combination with the cleansing lotion it removes everything from your eyes without leaving your skin feeling greasy, but fresh and smooth.

Inglot was a very nice surprise for me. I’ve heard of the brand but never tried it before. Out of this goody bag I got the chance to try a nail varnish, an eyeshadow and a make-up base. First things first, the Under Make Up Base is a nice product which I did enjoy using, even for the 2-3 applications I got from the sample. It’s a silicon based primer that leaves your skin smooth and helps foundation settle easily and stay on for longer. I think it gets the job done beautifully! The eyeshadow is from the range pearl no 449, a really pigmented and wonderful cranberry colour. I’ve been enjoying it so much, not only for the eyes but as a blush as well! It is not very shimmery, which helps a lot, and you just need a dab in order to make your cheeks look fresh and rosy. Now for the nail varnish, I got the shade 211, a shimmery bright red. The colour is a pretty christmacy one but I was not that impressed by the formula. It’s rather watery and doesn’t dry that quickly. I would show you a pic of it on my nails but that pic must have been lost in the abyss of my computer’s hard drive!

The Beauty Store has gifted us samples of different skincare products by Mario Badesku, Neal’s Yard Remedies and Nip + Fab. There was a variety of samples from cleansers and cleansing lotions to moisturizers, serums and beauty balms. These I haven’t tried yet, because I was testing some other face products and had to stick to them to be able to tell you whether they work or not! I will keep you updated if any one of them turns out to be a treasure!

Last but not least, each girl got a goodie from Oxette or Loisir. I picked up a bag containing something that looks like a silicone watch band with floral carvings by Oxette. I honestly have no idea how I will acessorise that without looking like I forgot to put the watch in between! Maybe it's a trend that I haven't yet heard of? I'm really clueless! If you have any idea please let me know!

I hope I didn’t bore you with my rambling but I really wanted to share this experience with you because I had a wonderful time and was super excited to try all these goodies. I just felt I can now officially call myself a Beauty Blogger; I can wear the complimentary pin as well! J
